PSC Approves Agreement Reached In Woodland Manor Water Company Rate Case

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an agreement which authorizes Woodland Manor Water Company, LLC to increase annual water operating revenues by approximately $24,100 for service on and after June 28, 2013.  The rate increase is designed to recover the Company’s cost of service.  This is the first rate increase for Woodland Manor Water Company, LLC since 1992.
When the company filed its rate request with the Public Service Commission on December 6, 2012, it sought to increase annual water operating revenues by approximately $20,000.
Under the small company rate case process, the PSC staff audits the books and records of the company (Staff also inspected the company’s facilities and reviewed the company’s operation of those facilities).
After the audit, the PSC staff presented its findings as well as its initial recommendation for resolution of the rate request to the Office of the Public Counsel and the company.  Based upon discussions between the PSC staff and Woodland Manor Water Company, LLC, an agreement was reached which was then filed for Commission consideration.  The Office of the Public Counsel did not join in the agreement but did not oppose the agreement.  The Office of the Public Counsel is a separate state agency which represents the general public in cases before the PSC.
The current monthly water bill for a residential customer using 6,000 gallons a month is $18.58.  Under the agreement, the water bill for that same residential customer will increase to $33.58 a month.
Woodland Manor Water Company, LLC provides water service to approximately 164 customers in Stone County near Kimberling City, Missouri.
