PSC Sets Local Public Hearing Schedule In Liberty Utilities Natural Gas Rate Case

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold five local public hearings in a natural gas rate case filed by Liberty Utilities (Midstates Natural Gas) Corp. d/b/a Liberty Utilities.  The local public hearing schedule appears below.
June 30, 2014—Jackson.  Meeting Room on the Lower Level of the Cape Girardeau County Extension Center, 684 West Jackson Trail.  A PSC staff public information/question and answer session starts at noon, with the taking of sworn statements to follow.
June 30, 2014—Sikeston.  The Clinton Building, 501 Campanella Drive.  A PSC staff public information/question and answer session starts at 6:00 p.m., with the taking of sworn statements to follow.
July 1, 2014—Hannibal.  Multipurpose Room of the Early Childhood Center, 544 North Veterans Road.  A PSC staff public information/question and answer session starts at 6:00 p.m., with the taking of sworn statements to follow.
July 2, 2014—Kirksville.  Student Union Building, Activities Room 3200, Truman State University, 901 South Franklin.  A PSC staff public information/question and answer session starts at 6:00 p.m., with the taking of sworn statements to follow.
July 7, 2014—Butler.  Bates County Museum, Robertson Hall, 802 Elks Drive.  A PSC staff public information/question and answer session starts at 6:00 p.m., with the taking of sworn statements to follow.
These local public hearings will be held in facilities that meet the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Any person who needs additional accommodations to participate in these hearings should call the Public Service Commission’s hotline at 1-800-392-4211 (voice) or Relay Missouri at 711 before the hearings.
On February 6, 2014, Liberty Utilities filed a natural gas rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking a general rate increase of approximately $6.3 million.  According to the company’s filing, the impact of the rate request on a typical residential customer in each of Liberty Utilities’ three service areas appears below.

Liberty Utilities (formerly Atmos Energy Corporation) serves approximately 56,000 natural gas customers in Missouri.  The WEMO service area includes the Missouri counties of Bates, Cass, Henry and St. Clair.  The SEMO service area includes the counties of Butler, Cape Girardeau, Dunklin, Iron, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Ripley, Scott, Stoddard and Wayne.  The NEMO service area includes the counties of Adair, Clark, Knox, Lewis, Macon, Marion, Pike, Ralls, Schuyler and Scotland.
