JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has set a deadline for interested parties or individuals to comment on a motion filed by the Office of the Public Counsel which seeks to have the Commission either reject, or in the alternative, suspend tariffs filed by Missouri Gas Energy (MGE) to extend its experimental pilot program called the “Rebuild Joplin Program”.
In a December 13, 2011, press release, MGE stated the “Rebuild Joplin” initiative will offer, for a limited period of time, enhanced rebates to MGE customers in Jasper and Newton counties for the purchase and installation of high efficiency natural gas appliances and for building new energy efficient homes.
The tariffs authorized funding of the program through December 31, 2012, or as long as authorized funds were available, whichever occurred first.
On November 30, 2012, MGE filed tariffs designed to extend its “Rebuild Joplin Program” experimental pilot program until May 1, 2013. On December 11, 2012, the Office of the Public Counsel filed its motion to reject, or in the alternative suspend, the tariffs that would extend the program.
The Commission wants to give potentially interested parties and entities an opportunity to file responses to the motion filed by the Office of the Public Counsel. No later than 3:00 p.m. on December 17, 2012, the Public Service Commission Staff and MGE shall file responses to Public Counsel’s motions. No later than 3:00 p.m. on December 18, 2012, any other interested person or entity shall file responses to the motions.
Comments may be sent electronically using the Commission Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) which can be accessed using the Commission’s website (psc.mo.gov) . The file number is GT-2013-0330.
