811 Motorcycle and Call Before You Dig Interactive Trailer to be at the Capitol
April Is National Safe Digging Month
JEFFERSON CITY---The “811” motorcycle featured in episodes of American Chopper on the Discovery Channel returns to Jefferson City on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, as part of activities surrounding National Safe Digging Month. In addition, the Missouri One Call interactive excavation damage prevention trailer will also be on display on the south side of the State Capitol from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The 811 Bike is a custom motorcycle built by Paul Jr. Designs to promote underground utility damage prevention.
The Missouri One Call educational display (12’ X 10’) trailer features: two 32” screens running continuous loops of video; a glass floor showing underground lines and pipes corresponding to natural gas, electric, telephone cable and water meters and boxes displayed on the wall; damage prevention literature; and an interactive “dig box” to be used for school programs.
“The 811 Bike and Missouri One Call’s interactive trailer are great educational tools to remind Missourians to call 811 or 1-800-DIG-RITE before digging or doing any excavation work in their yard or business,” Public Service Commission Chairman Robert Kenney said.
