PR-10-207 -- Complaint Filed Against Foristell Manufactured Home Dealer

JEFFERSON CITY---The Director of the Manufactured Housing and Modular Units Program of the Missouri Public Service Commission has filed a complaint against 5 Star Homes and Development Company, Inc. alleging the Foristell, Missouri dealer failed to: 1) arrange for the proper setup of certain homes; 2) deliver certain homes that the consumer had paid for; 3) correct code violations to a home within a reasonable period of time; and 4) pay a PSC re-inspection fee.
The complaint alleges 5 Star Homes and Development Company, Inc. failed to make certain repairs to correct installation deficiencies to a new home in Versailles, Missouri. The complaint states Manufactured Housing and Modular Units Program staff conducted two inspections of the home and sent three letters to the dealer detailing the deficiencies.
The complaint also alleges the dealer failed to arrange for the delivery and proper initial setup of three manufactured homes in violation of PSC rules and regulations.
The Director of the Manufactured Housing and Modular Units Program of the Missouri Public Service Commission is requesting the Commission authorize its General Counsel to seek penalties in Circuit Court and to deny 5 Star Homes and Development Company, Inc.’s renewal of its dealer registration.
5 Star Homes and Development Company, Inc. is to file a response to the complaint with the Commission no later than June 9, 2010.
