PSC Sets Local Public Hearing Schedule In Grain Belt Express Transmission Line Case

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold eight local public hearings in a case filed by Grain Belt Express Clean Line LLC (Grain Belt Express). 
Grain Belt Express seeks a certificate of convenience and necessity to construct, own, operate and maintain a high voltage, direct current transmission line and associated facilities within Buchanan, Clinton, Caldwell, Carroll, Chariton, Randolph, Monroe and Ralls counties in Missouri as well as an associated converter station in Ralls County.  According to the application, approximately 206 miles of a high voltage, direct current (“HVDC”) transmission line will traverse the state of Missouri from Kansas into Illinois and Indiana.
The local public hearing schedule in this case appears below.
August 12, 2014—Monroe City.  Knights of Columbus Hall, 424 South Locust.  The local public hearing will begin at 11:00 a.m.
August 12, 2014—Hannibal.  Theater Auditorium, Hannibal-LaGrange University, 2800 Palmyra Road.  The local public hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m.
August 14, 2014—Marceline.  Walsworth Community Center, 124 East RitchieThe local public hearing will begin at 11:00 a.m.
August 14, 2014—Moberly.  Moberly City Auditorium, 201 West Rollins.  The local public hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m.
September 3, 2014—Cameron.  Cameron Community Center, 219 Ashland Avenue.  The local public hearing will begin at 11:00 a.m.
September 3, 2014—St. Joseph.  Moila Shriners Ballroom, 701 North Noyes Blvd.   The local public hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m.
September 4, 2014—Hamilton.  Hamilton Community Arts Theatre, Er Penney Drive.  The local public hearing will begin at 11:00 a.m.
September 4, 2014—Carrollton.  Rupe Community Center, 710 Harvest Hills Drive.  The local public hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m.
These local public hearings will be held in facilities that meet the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Any person who needs additional accommodations to participate in these hearings should call the Public Service Commission’s hotline at 1-800-392-4211 (voice) or Relay Missouri at 711 before the hearings.
Formal evidentiary hearings are scheduled for November 10, 12-14 and 21, 2014.  These hearings will be held in Room 310 of the Governor Office Building, 200 Madison Street, in Jefferson City.  The Governor Office Building meets the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Any person who needs additional accommodations to participate in the formal evidentiary hearings should call the Public Service Commission’s hotline at 1-800-392-4211 (voice) or Relay Missouri at 711 before the hearings.
