On April 10,
2014, KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company (“GMO”) submitted an
application and tariff designed to establish a renewable energy standard rate
adjustment mechanism pursuant to Section 393.1030, RSMo Supp. 2013, and
Commission Rule 4 CSR 240-20.100(6). The
Commission’s Staff filed its recommendation regarding the application, and the
Office of the Public Counsel and Earth Island Institute d/b/a Renew Missouri
submitted comments. On August 22, 2014,
GMO filed its reply disagreeing with certain recommendations and comments and
requesting a hearing.
The Commission finds that a prehearing
conference is now appropriate. The parties
or their representatives shall appear in person, or by telephone, at the conference.
Parties wishing to appear by telephone
will be provided with a telephone conference number. At the conference, parties should be prepared
to discuss the correct time period for the Commission to conduct a hearing and
issue a report and order under Commission
Rule 4 CSR 240-20.100(6)(C)1, whether any material facts are in dispute,
and whether an evidentiary hearing or oral arguments and/or briefs are appropriate.
The parties should be
prepared to discuss the elements of a joint procedural schedule, including the
dates for an evidentiary hearing or oral arguments and post-hearing briefs. The parties will also be encouraged to discuss settlement.
THE COMMISSION ORDERS THAT:
1.
A prehearing conference shall be held on Wednesday
September 10, 2014, beginning at 2:30 p.m., in Room 305 of the Governor Office
Building, 200 Madison Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. This meeting will be
held in a building that meets accessibility standards required by the Americans
with Disabilities Act. Anyone needing additional accommodations to participate
shall call the Public Service Commission’s Hotline at 1‑800‑392-4211
(voice) or Relay Missouri at 711 before the conference.

3. This order shall become effective immediately upon issuance.
