FILING
Issue Date: August 14, 2013 Effective Date: August 24, 2013
On July 1, 2013, KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company (KCP&L GMO) filed an application, supported by direct testimony and schedules, containing the company’s ninth fuel adjustment clause true-up. The true-up corrected an under-collection of $314,403 from customers in the MPS rate district and of $357,643 from customers in the L&P rate district.
The Commission’s rule regarding fuel adjustment clauses requires the Commission’s Staff to examine and analyze the information submitted by the company and to submit a recommendation within 30 days.[1] Staff filed its recommendation on July 30, 2013. Based on its analysis of information filed by KCP&L GMO, Staff recommends that the Commission approve the company’s true-up filing. Staff further explains that the under-collected amounts are included in the company’s calculation of its proposed current period Cost Adjustment Factors in its semi-annual adjustment filing in File No. ER-2014-0002.
Commission rules require that responsive pleadings be filed
within 10 days.[2] More than 10 days have expired since Staff
filed its recommendation and no party has filed a response. Based on the direct testimony of Linda J.
Nunn, submitted by KCP&L GMO, as well as the uncontested, verified
recommendation filed by Staff, the Commission will approve KCP&L GMO’s
true-up filing.
THE COMMISSION ORDERS THAT:
1. KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company’s ninth true-up filing for the period March 1, 2012 through February 28, 2013 is approved.
2. This order shall become effective on August 24, 2013.
3. This file shall be closed on August 25, 2013.
