This order cancels the private pay telephone certificate of William DuPree, III.

On June 4, 2013, the Staff of the Missouri Public Service Commission filed a motion requesting Mr. DuPree, III’s certificate to provide private pay telephone service in the State of Missouri be canceled. 

          In Case Number PA-2002-1071, the Commission granted Mr. DuPree, III a certificate of service authority to provide private pay telephone service in the State of Missouri via customer-owned coin-operated telephone equipment.

Staff’s motion states that Mr. DuPree, III requested cancellation of his certificate of service authority via letter and in his Statement of Revenue.  Staff recommends that the Commission cancel Mr. DuPree, III’s certificate of service authority as he is no longer providing service in Missouri.

On June 5, 2013, the Commission issued an Order Directing Notice allowing any parties to file an objection or request a hearing to do so no later than June 17, 2013.  No objections or requests for a hearing were filed.

The Commission has the authority to cancel a certificate and tariff pursuant to Section 392.410.5, RSMo (Supp. 2012), which states, in part, “[a]ny certificate or service authority may be altered or modified by the commission after notice and hearing, upon its own motion or upon application of the person or company affected.”

          Based on Mr. DuPree, III’s request and Staff’s motion, the Commission finds that the private payphone certificate granted to William DuPree, III, shall be canceled.


          1.       The private payphone certificate granted to William DuPree, III, in Case Number PA-2002-1071, is canceled.

          2.       This order shall become effective on July 1, 2013.

          3.       This case may be closed on July 2, 2013.
